uploading video

Hi All

I'm exploring ways to load video easily.

It took me 5 mins to set up this blogger blog site - super easy, just like typing a word document!

I just took this video on my laptop using the camera.  It is saved as an MP4 file and was very easy to add into this blog by just clicking on the video icon in the tool bar at the top of the blogger screen.

Wordpress doesn't work with MP4 files as far as I can see, so no luck there.

On the other hand, it was easy to upload the file to Twitter.   There are also a few options on facebook to explore including a watch party, where you can link to a video and invite people to watch together and comment.  Or facebook live where you can broadcast a little video live as you record - give your learners a time to log in to watch live.  Or you can just upload a photo or short video you have already taken.  All of these are available from a list when you go to the box create a post.

It's also really easy to add a video into a padlet, in the same way as you add a document or internet link.

WhatsApp is another popular app for video calling.  If you want to connect with learners this way I would be clear about setting ground rules at the beginning because members of the group can add others, and all members would have access to each others' contact numbers/email, so you will need to collect permission to share contact details from everyone before you do this.

Personally I think it's worth adding a video even if it's just to say hello to learners.  It feels a lot more connected than just text in a message.  OK - that's all on video for now.  Let us know if you are trying out any of these suggestions!
